Extending financial incentives for energy efficiency improvements into the commercial sector is the next step for Alaska’s collective energy efficiency efforts. Though not much is currently available at the state level, there’s a lot around the corner. Please check back regularly for updates!
AHFC Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund: Intended to help public buildings become more energy efficient, this program finances retrofits for State of Alaska, school district, university, and municipal buildings. The first step is to fill out and submit a REAL (Retrofit Energy Assessment for Loan) form. Forms and more information can be found here.
AEA Commercial Energy Audit: This program will subsidize the cost of commercial energy audits at approximately 100 small businesses around the state. The program is currently closed for applications. More information is available here.
Industrial Energy Audits fo Seafood Processing Plants: Alaska Energy Authority has launched an industrial energy audit program to assist the seafood industry to better understand the usage of energy in their plants. This program will help to insure that investment by the seafood industry in energy efficiency is done so effectively. More information on the program can be found here.
