Energy Efficiency Makes $ense! Video Contest
Super Bowl Sunday Kicks Off a Month of Winning PSA Videos!
The winning Public Service Announcement videos was aired on Sunday, February 5, on statewide television before and after the Super Bowl! The top three videos can also be found on AK Energy Efficiency's youtube site. The top two videos will be aired on statewide television throughout the month of February. Students were challenged to create a 30 second Public Service Announcement with the theme “Energy Efficiency is Common $ense.”

Contest organizers Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP), the Alaska Energy Authority, and the Alaska Energy Efficiency Partnership would like to thank all of Alaska’s high school students and teachers who participated in this video contest.
The contest was created to help educate the public about ways to improve energy efficiency and conservation. Students were asked to submit 30 second PSAs that included the theme “It’s Common $ense” and at least one of three action items: 1) Get an energy audit, 2) Seal tight and ventilate right, and 3) Change your light bulbs.
The top two videos will be aired on statewide television throughout the month of February with an official launch on Super Bowl Sunday. Prize winnings for the first, second, and third place teams are respectively: iPads, iTouch, and iPod Shuffles. Additionally, each of the three sponsoring teachers will receive $1,000 for their classrooms.
